i got pregnant with my 2nd boy on the 3rd day of my period. I know for a fact because my husband at the time was only home from Iraq for a small, short leave. you can get pregnant any time you have unprotected sex. Even if you have never had a period, you could get pregnant the first time you ovulate ever! Life, and babies are crazy like that.

It is highly unlikely, but it is possible. Normally, women ovulate about 14 days after the first day of their period. Sperm can live for 3 to 5 days. So, if you have very short cycles, or if you ovulate early that month, you can absolutely become pregnant.

I know many families who carefully use natural family planning. They have mostly not had any unplanned pregnancies. But it certainly can happen!

Anytime you have sex there is a possibility of getting pregnant. Even with two forms of contraception there is still a chance. The only 100% proven way is abstinence or sterility.
