What do you suggest? Could I just go to the Justice of the Peace to get them to take care of this problem?

You can file a petition for citation of contempt with your court clerk or family court (you can do this with an attorney or by yourself depending on which state you're in) He will have to pay what he owes you in child support plus any attorney fees.

The Justice of the Peace? No. Try Child Support Services.

YES! If your child(ren)'s father is late paying support, the court will enforce the support order. The problem is that the courts are very busy with these cases and will not always enforce orders on their own. You need to call the support office, inform them that you have not received support for 7 months and request enforcement.

Justice of the peace might help. You could also call the cops, or get an attorney. That is what I recommend. Good luck!

in my instances with this subject it would depend on whether u went through the attorney general or your local officials to set the child support. Again where I live my son went through the attorney general so now all matters are heard through them, in my daughters case she went through a divorce and the child support was issued through the county,,therefore, yes, she could go to the JP or county clerk to enforce her orders. Hope this helped.

At least you have gotten it in the past. Would you like to trade for the deadbeat dad who is $10,000 behind or the one who is $6000 behind?

Go to your local Child Support Enforcement Agency and see what they can do.
