why do men stray?

Because people still have stone age brains. Modern society is only a flash in the pan. In primitive times the winning strategy was to produce the most descendants. Men that did not spread their genes around are not our ancestors.

Because modern society has a different winning strategy this will change in a very short time. Perhaps in as little as 25,000 years.

Why do women stray? The answer is the same. Dissatisfaction with the relationship, selfishness, and immaturity are the main culprits. But all men do not stray. Some of them actually have the maturity to take their relationships seriously, and the willingness and ability to work through problems so that there IS no dissatisfaction.

Another reason why men (and women) stray is this: because they can. Too many spouses take the cheater back. If they can have the best of both worlds, then what is their motivation to improve? Me and my spouse have both laid it on the table. If one of us cheats, the relationship is over. You stay firm, and your loved one with either not cheat at all, or you will be better off without them.

p.s. I will also add that I don't buy the bull that men are programmed to do this. The difference between humans and the animals is our ability to choose right from wrong. If it were merely in our genes, then we would ALL cheat. Well, I can't speak for everyone, but I never have and never would.

You are not the first to ask this question and believe it or not I can't answer you either. You see I have never strayed in any of my relationships i've ever had. No matter what the problems may have been it has never been enough reason for me to want to even think about straying, let alone actually doing it. I just couldn't.
I hope you do find an answer to your question. I also hope someone finally puts up this question...why do men stay...and my answer to that would be because real men honor committment in their relationships...they value it more than almost anything else, as I do and as do most men out here.

A lot of men stray because they just do. I think they have a lot of insecurities within themselves and feel they have to use it before they lose it, so to speak. Don't blame women for men straying. The person that strays will always search for something else and never find it. When they are old they will take a look back and see the stupidity in it all.

There's a lot of reasons why do men stray. The most common reason is " wife let's him go beyond his limitations",how? After marriage rather, after the honeymoon stage responsibilites opens, child arrives,career or job is also a competition,bills,etc. Most of us women are automatically bound to think and problem these things, thus, "forgetting HIM". If we're too busy, they will look for something to do, as the saying goes"if the cat is away , the mouse will play". Most often the wife is willing to take charge,because we dream a lot of good life. Most men take it easy,lets life flow, and if someone is taking good care of them,they get carried away by the "flow of life". Another story is that when a woman fails to give her "marital obligation", it's a "valid" reason for them. Another story is that when you love a little but nags too much,"pushing them away". ;-)

Not just men -- all people in long term relationships can 'stray'. The reasons vary from person to person, but basically you can chalk it up to 1) changing & growing as a person, 2) taking the other person for granted, 3) not communicating properly with the partner, 4) being tempted, 5) feeling that the partner is 'losing' positive qualities.

The question should be why to people cheat? The men aren't cheating with other men. The point I'm trying to make is that women & men make themselves available for affairs. Men couldn't cheat if the women weren't accepting these cheaters. I'll answer this with a question a man & a woman both married go to a bar & the man walks up to another woman & says I want to sleep with you & never talk to you again after the sex. Does the woman say yes or no? 9 times out of 10 the man gets slapped. Now the opposite the woman walks up to a man & says I want to sleep with you & never talk to you again after this probably 10 times out of 10 the single or married man who this question is given to says yes. So women aren't innocent & it takes two to tango & all of us think about people of the opposite sex that aren't our spouses its just if we act on the urges or not. Men cheat because sleeping with women is a conquest. They can brag that they slept with 50 women or something like that or that this women did this demeaning thing or he took pictures on his cell phone during the sexual expericence. Also a lot of times these one night stands or affairs that they have. These women do things their spouses won't. Women be adventureous & let your man or husband know that its just for them & some will stay at home instead of finding what they think is something better!!!!

Normally because they're not getting the same attention as they use to from their spouse. But really I think women cheat more than men do anymore. I know over twenty people who have been cheated on this year by their wives. I think the real question would be why don't we cheat more?
