Depends on what kind of Internet Connection you have or want to access?
Broadband Providers in the UK provide you with a USB Modem, along with the Software needed to make it run.
You can buy a Wireless Router which is a replacement for your Modem, and then access the Internet from your laptop with no wires!

Well it depends. Do you have a wireless card in the laptop? If you do you can grab wireless internet that is close and unsecured, or you can get charter, speed net etc. and have them provide you with service and get a wireless router to have your own internet.

Buy internet from a highspeed provider, connect the network cable they give you and use the setup cd.
