Because I know how old you are, I'll say that for your age group, he's pretty much alone. I know a lot of people my age who are just terrified of it for reasons which seem to relate to identity theft. Which means they probably don't really understand it.
I do think people should be careful about what they put on their page, because employers and prospective employers will check them. Not to mention moms and dads!
