Everyone is just too damn serious now in the world. It is like they found some revelation in their life that told them they acted foolish as a child and must prevent their own from being this way. Also they don't even want to hear of jokes because they somehow think their kids will hear it. It is like in Nightmare on Elm Stree when the parents tried to hide the fact they burned Freddy from the kids.

I used to work in a Special Care Unit where we cared for people with Alzheimer's and related dementias. I cared deeply for all of them. They were a sweet bunch of people and I loved my work. I used to joke about being there all the time though. I used to say that the only good thing about having Alzheimer's is that you can hide your own Easter eggs. I offended a few with that one, but not anyone who's mother or father was in the unit.

lmao! I get the same reaction when I talk about my students... I use the duct tape threat too. One woman was concerned about my attitude once when I posted a question talking about a student in particular. Geez! Get a life already!
