An ex girlfriend of mine, still a friend, got pregnant will a very abusive person. She plans to secretively abort the 4 week pregnancy and tell everyone that she miscarriaged. I have no idea what will happen after that. Her now ex b/f calls her work non-stop harrassing her co-workers about giving him information or else.

Right now, I fear for her safety. This person from what I hear from her dad is very screwed up. What should she do about taking care of this? How do you get someone to stop calling you at work?

Also, what are the legal ramifications about not telling the "father" that you aborted the pregnancy?

Thanks.

there are not legal ramifications, and just call the police. if everything you say is true they will call him and tell him to stop, but also they when she goes for her restraining order they have a paper trail to follow so they will waste no time in awarding it.

There are no ramifications for not telling a father about an aborted pregnancy. She should file suit for harassment with the local polic department and obtain a reatrsining order or at a minimum a no contact order.

The way they have abortion laws set up right now; the father doesn't have to know and even if he does know, there is little he can do to stop it. As far as trying to get the ex to stop harrassing her; that will take some trick to solve. In my opinion; it is very sad that the police will not do anything to aid the victim unless that person has been attacked physically by the abuser.

I hope everything goes okay.

No legal ramifications. The U.S. Supreme Court, several decades ago, ruled that a biological father doesn't have to consent to an abortion procedure. The case was Danforth versus Planned Parenthood of Illinois.

No legal ramifications, but her ex seems a bit psychotic and I hate to think of what he might do if he found out... If nothing else she should get a restraining order against her ex.
