I think it would be a situation where there simply was no alternative.
Otherwise, I think I would be a holdout hoping that something more palatable would come along, LOL.
Which bug? That would depend on where I was. I saw Les Stroud eat 4 or 5 scoprions yesterday when he was in the desert. He really didn't have much choice, since that was where he was and bugs were limited or virtually non-existant.
I suppose I'd be looking for something that smelled all right. But some really do stink and usually are toxic anyway, so they aren't really an option.
If the circumstances were that desperate, anything that was available probably would do.

Oh! I get to choose my own bug? Wow! I thought that you'd give me a big fat grub or something else gooey like that.
So since it's my choice, I think a few chocolate covered African Ants would be nice.
Chomp chomp, swallow.
It can't be any worse than the dehydrated pork patty that the Army tried to get me to eat. MRE's used to be the MOST DISGUSTING things around. They started getting much better around the time I got out. I hear that they are pretty good now.

chocolate covered ants, i did eat frog legs one time, but i was really drunk so it seemed like a good idea at the time
