I've just recieved a payment of $750 dollars through paypal but it won't let me accept the payment until I upgrade to a premier account where they take 3% of everything I make. Is there any way to accept the payment without upgrading to a premier account?

My buddy said that if I added my bank account/SSN/something like that to my account it would work but I'm not sure.

You do need to pay a charge to paypal for accepting the payment for you and holding it. I am not sure of any way around it apart form cancelling the payment and giving the person you direct account to put the money into your account but that isnt very safe giving your details out like that. A personal cheque might be a better idea. If it is for goods then do not send the goods until your cheque clears.

You can do direct bank transfers for free with paypal. In this case the money is taken directly out of your checking/savings account to pay though paypal. I didn't think there was a limit to the amount of money that you can send, but if there is you can always split it up over two or three transactions

When you pay with a credit card you get charged 2.9% + a little cash as a conviences fee. This isn't a paypal fee, this is actaully a credit card fee. This is something that the credit card company charges everyone who accepts a credit card payment (even places like Wal Mart and Target)

You also have the option of a check or a money order takes longer for a payment to get to you, but there is no fee (other than the fee when the check bounces)

I myself use the Paypal option to pay in Ebay, and wouldn't even think for a minute, of sending someone a money order! You may want to bear this in mind, as I'm not alone. This said, Paypal covers both the recipient, and the sender with their service, so to me as a seller, that might just come in handy one day when things go sour!

No! The payment is obviously from a credit card so you have to upgrade to accept it. The only other way is to get your buyer to send PP funds only (not credit card funded) but that will take some days for them to load to their PP account.
