Mary Kay has a product called "Satin Hands". I use this a lot when my hands dry out in the winter.
You can use it once a day or once a week. Once dry cracked hands become soft again. I would check with a rep around you and see if you can try it one time to see if you like it.
(no, I'm not in Mary Kay sales... I use the product myself with excellent results)

Wear gloves when u are dealing with the detergents.
Make sure you moisterize your hands. you can buy cotton gloves and moisterize them with vaseline and sleep with the gloves on and in the morning your hands are gonna be supper soft and moisterized ( its kinda hard to sleep with gloves but try it) and dont use hot water!!!!! that dries out your skin.

What kind of detergent? Why don't you try the liquid where you don't have to worry about it getting on your hands. And if your talking about laundry detergent just wash your hands and put lotion on them.
