I watched the Road Warriors/Legion of Doom DVD last week and it got me to thinking. Back in the 80's and early 90's Tag Teams were all the rage. You had the Fabulous Freebirds, Powerteam 2000/Blade Runners, The Bushwhackers, The Road Warriors/Legion of Doom, The Rock and Roll Express, The Rockers, the list goes on and on.

The Tag Teams were just that. A team that looked alike, complimented each others style and cut promos and had feuds team VS team. Until very recently (over the past year) Tag Teams have become a thing of the past

I guess there's just a part of me that really misses the tandem Tag Team action of the 80's and 90's. I know these days it's all about the big fireworks, the fancy catch phrase or the new piece of T&A, but there will always be a part of me that really misses the good old days of Tag Team wrestling.

i totally agree with you.Look when in the past you had to watch Road Warrios,The four Horsemen,nWo,DX and you had plenty of combined world class wrestlers in a tag match..Rock&Sock,Undertaker & Kane..The match of Taker&Kane vs Stone Cold & The Rock.Taker & Big Show vs Rock & Mankind in a Buried Alive match and in the near past we had The Dudleyz,The Los Guerrero's,Edge & Christian e.t.c and now we only have The Hardyz which are in different brands and London & Kendrick which are enthusiastic high flyers but they are not enough...They need to pay more attention to the tag team division...

and i also think that they need to push a little beat Haas & Benjamin cause they had some good moves together and they have good wrestling skills too...

I have shared your opinion for quite some time.
I can remember a time when Survivor Series could field 10 tag teams (5 face, 5 heel), and that era really died in the early '90's, if you ask me.
I can't be sure of the reasoning, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with the self promoting nature of the business these days. If one guy on the team truly believes he can make more money if he's no longer part of a team, he'll split.
I miss the old days to a certain extent, too, but then again, certain sacrifices must be made to increase the overall entertainment value of the product. If decent tag teams must be one of those sacrifices, so be it. Pity.

The fact you say "Blade Runners" makes it seem kinda weird. The Powers of Pain, Demolition, Midnight Express, the Midnight Rockers, The Wrecking Crew. Until Vinny Mac realizes that tag teams are a part of history, the tag team scene will continue to shrink. His theory is why pay four guys to be in one match. Shame it comes down to money like that.

For now they are! I think that one day tag teams will be big again. Team 3/D might return to WWE. The naturals already are on their way for a tryout. Harry Smith and Teddy Hart might reform the Hart Foundation. The brand extension might end and then there would be enough teams to compete on one show. All things things are rumors and just a fantasy. I would love for all these things to happen. But only time will tell.

They shouldn't be but sadly WWE writers are struggling to come up with good ideas for tag teams and for some reason when there is a good partnership they often break them up and that's it, so many have come and go the last few years. There are still a few left and deserve better chances like Cryme Time.

I miss those days too. The Hart Foundation, LOD, British Bulldogs, Rocky Johnson/Tony Atlas, and those others you mentioned were great.

The WWE doesn't put too much stake in the tag titles anymore. You have mid carders holding the tag titles on both shows. You have "Return to Brokeback Mountain" as tag champs on Raw, and Deuce n' Domino on Smackdown.

And even TNA makes a mockery of the their tag belts. Now there's ONE singles competitor holding the tag titles...that doesn't exactly give credibility to those titles, now does it?

some might desire to. the line Warriors could have been extensive no count what time they have been in, and that they've been reliable and agile sufficient to compete with the bigger adult adult males of immediately. The lifeless night exhibit grew to become into the Hardys in the previous the Hardy have been the Hardys. they could make it immediately. Thats approximately it. i do no longer comprehend if the Horsemen could be over immediately. they did no longer have "the look" as Vince is keen on asserting and in all likelihood does no longer get a honest shot. investigate each and every of the skills that gets buried available immediately, while adult adult males like Batista & Masters are pushed everywhere & down our throats. Its unhappy.

Don't mourn tag teams to much. TNA has some good teams and WWE is working on it. TNA has Steiner bros, XXX, LAX, Sabin and Lethal, and Dudley boys. WWE has London and Kendrick, Major bros.,Cryme Tyme, Hardys (sometimes), Cade and Murdoc, and Hass and Benjamin. It's not completely dead just isn't as big as it used to be.
