I'm sure it eventually goes limp, but it will stay that way for a long time. People in the trade call it "angel lust".

Erections are actually caused when a certain muscle relaxes. It lets blood in. That's what causes morning wood. You get so relaxed that the muscle relaxes and bam - you're hard. I'm sure it's a similar phenomenon - if you're dead the muscle probably is relaxed.

Erections are caused by blood flowing to the penial shafticus. When you die, your blood stops flowing. Therefor, cannot keep erection.
