How many people think that Hillary is going to be elected as president? Do you think that the world is ready for a women president? Do you think that Barack Obama even has a chance because he is black? This is not about race or about gender. I just want to know what other people of different races and gender think. Im a black female just to clear things up.

I've stated in the past that I think the US will elect a black man before a woman. No particular reason, just a gut feeling.

White male.

The world is most definitely ready for a woman president and a black president. That doesn't mean either Hillary or Obama will be elected though.
The question that we should ask is if Hillary is the right person - since everyone is entitled to their opinion I say no - I don't disagree with her because she is a woman I disagree with her because I don't like her position on the issues.

Is Obama the right person - the first thing that comes to mind is that he is too inexperienced so no - it has nothing to do with the color of his skin I just don't agree with his view on things.

I agree it is not about race or gender it is about who is most equip to do the job. I don't think either of these candidates are the right person.

I will give the low down about Obama and you may not like it but if you follow the links to the policitco.com articles and read it all you will not like or trust Obama.
He is the biggest liar on the campaign trail.
1.. He used an innocent man in Iowa to get free new and his PR people lied to keep the spin going. This man is a Armenian Physicist here doing some work with some of the most important programs for Universities and the Government. And he was helping a friend in Cincinnati Ohio out with his novelty card business when Obama used him read the links.

2. He is not a Christian as you will not find one Muslim saying a word about his so called conversation from Islam. You can convert to Islam but not away as it is called a fatwa or to us a death sentence. No one word about this.

3. He stated he would invade Pakistan who is an alley on terrorism and barely holding on with eh Islamic extremist there. Which was done by Obama to destabilize this country that has a nuke and I will add the only Muslim country that does. Why would he do this even Hillary knows this is very bad.

4. He last week said he would never use the Nuke which was a signal that if he wins that they the Islamic terrorist who wishes us all to be dead can do it and he will not act. Id this what you want for a president? No look at what Turkey did to Christians and they will end all of the things you love on the left as we are all infidels to them and the left here is satin itself.

I would love to see the United States with a woman president, but I don't think Hillary is right for that. I really like Barack Obama. I just get the sense/ feeling that he would work hard to do what is needed to make our country better. I just get a good feeling when I hear him speak, like I want to follow him. I hope he really is a good person, b/c I think he comes across as a really good person.

I think that it would be a good thing for our country to have anything other than a white man as a president, because that's all we've had.

Such a group of idealists we have on here--but I agree with you about "is the country ready?"

As a female working on a military base, I have a hard enough time with bosses struggling on calling me sweetheart or baby doll, asking me to make their coffee, and whenever we try to discuss politics being told not to worry my pretty lil head over it. Now military guys are part of that good ol boy network and the baby boomers are still a large percentage of the voting population. The younger "open minded" generation is the SMALLEST percentage of VOTERS. Great to be openminded and accepting, worthless when you don't vote.

So I think Hillary stands no chance of being elected president. I think she's highly qualified and 1000 times more qualified than Edwards--but Edwards is WASP male. And the DNC is mostly old WASP men. Women's lib is relatively new. 30 years really isn't that much in the grand scheme of things.

As to Obama, I like him I really do. I think he is shaking things up, while taking the high road. Hillary is just too forceful to get things accomplished as will scare the DNC. I think Obama might be able to move the country forward in thinking about having a black man as president.

We haven't even run a decent campaign with a black or a woman as a VP! 84 was the only time it was tried and it didn't stand a chance. Hopefully we are ready now and whichever one of those 2 makes the best showing will be put on a ticket, but more than likely as a VP with an old WASP--probably from California for the e.c votes.

You say its not about race or gender but its completely about race and gender. The baby boomers aren't ready to allow one of those people [women or blacks] to get into the good ol boy network yet. First the VP, then the presidency.

I'm a white female--one who fights the glass ceiling but isn't oblivious to the fact that it is there.

After reading the answers to this question, it seems most people are voting for candidates JUST BECAUSE of their race or gender. No wonder this country is so messed up. Then after these candidates get in office these same voters will be the first ones moaning about everything they do wrong in office. So I'm voting for any white male running.

i can't wait to vote for whichever of them ends up running. i prefer obama. i think he'd make a good president. he's obviously very smart and well spoken. the fact that he's a little 'green' is a plus in my opinion. he hasn't been in washington long enough to be totally corrupted. i think the winning ticket would be obama running for pres. with hillary running for vp. then, 8 years later hillary can be mrs. president. but, like i said. i'll vote for either or both of them.

i personally think that is the only thing both has going for them at this time both seems to be sending mixed messages
the only reason Barack will get votes is because he is black
the only reason Hillary will get votes is because she is a woman
put another black guy like Colan Powell or another woman up against them their ratings would drop to the single digits

Does not matter.
We are all living human kind.
May the best win.
It's tough work out there.
In cracking coconuts.
In ruling and leading in guiding the survival and advancement of living human kind on planet earth.
Decode this lyrics " I never love this way again"
Be the dirty old man is still the best in town.
