It seems no matter what question people ask on here there are at least a few people who respond by calling them racist, sexist or closeminded even if the question is well stated and worded properly. Can someone shed some light to this?

Racist
- a person with a prejudiced belief that one race is superior to others

Prejudice
- opinion or feeling for or especially against something, formed unfairly or unreasonably ie without proper knowledge

The word racist is just way too over used. Just because someone doesn't like the way one black person talks, one Asian person looks, one white person acts etc., doesn't make him a racist. He may be prejudice, but not racist. It's just a great way to label someone who asks a good question that people don't appreciate.

You're right and it's silly...a simple inquiry out of curiosity can have you labeled a racist or hate monger, even if you don't agree with the concept or idea behind the question you are asking (are just curious as to others thoughts on it).

That idiocy of screaming racist constantly certainly does nothing to promote harmony amongst people...I guess some just aren't happy without something to biotch about.
