I can c both sides. U should talk 2 her about mayb going 2 a doctor and talking about her fear and getting put on medication that would make her feel relaxed enuf 2 travel. My aunt and I suffer from phobias like that but we medicate and travel. Life's 2 short 2 miss out on, she should take advantage especially if she's not afraid 2 travel in the US by car and train. They do offer special classes 2 people who r afraid 2 fly. Good luck.

Are you traveling with a married man or woman?
You shouldn't be traveling with a married woman. If it's a man, the that's no big deal. All you can do is tell her how you feel about travel. Sounds like if you go, it'll make her mad. It's up to you to decide if travel is more important to you than your wife's feelings (insane as they are). Is this attitude of not wanting you to travel new or has she always been like this? If this is new behavior, you guys might talk to a marriage counselor once to work it out. If she has always been like this, then you really shouldn't go. Get a different hobby.

You carefully left out if the "married friend" was of the opposite sex.
Doing that is not a good plan, and if your wife has fears and a temperament that distrusts your actions, then it's even a worse plan because you are wilfully doing something you KNOW will distress your wife and that's a shabby way to treat her.
Does your wife have valid reason to distrust you?

Well, she needs to deal with the fact that you shouldn't have to "miss out" because she is unwilling to go....
Many spouses take seperate vacations, and she will just have to make plans to do something in the U.S. by herself while you are away....
However, that being said, if you spend a large majority of your time overseas, then she may have a legitimate "gripe" (since you are obviously doing it just to avoid having to spend too much time with her...).

i guess you're both going to have to work out some sort of compromise.
doesn't your spouse know it's more dangerous to travel by car than by plane? maybe she needs to look at the statistics.
take care

I would never let my woman leave the state without me. People tend to cheat when they go on vacations with there friends or without there woman or man. Its just the facts 50% of people have cheated and thats just the ones who have admitted it or got caught. Emagine the ones that haven't admitted or got caught. I say bring her with or stay home dude.
