I agree and disagree. I think the AL teams are more rounded, and the AL probably has the best overall teams, but I think the NL is more exciting this year. Just look at the teams still in the wild card race. Also between Atlanta and Philadelphia you two of the most explosive offenses in baseball.
I think however, that Adam Eaton's absence from Baseball Tonight just shows what he has done this year. Really nothing spectacular. His ERA is incredibly high, and the only reason he has as many wins as he has is because the Phillies have one amazing offense. Howard, Rollins, Utley(hurt) and Rowand create a force to be reckoned with, and it seems when they sputter, the bottom half always picks them up. The key pitchers are Hamels, Kendrick, Moyer and hopefully Loshe. I don't think Eaton has made proven to be a noteworthy player which, with wild card and division leaders getting down to the wire I am sure he was left off the ballot. Had Hamels, or Howard been injured, that would have been a 15 minute time slot.
I'm not incredible happy that the Phillies get left out, but once they make the playoffs this year, they will get a regular spot on BT, every night.

Well Adam Eaton has been pitching like he's been on the DL all year, so for most people it wasn't really news. The big news yesterday was Boston making a big comeback and coming up short to Tampa Bay, The Yankees have a heartbreking loss after fighting their way back into the game, Cleveland and Detroit going head to head for the Division and Minnesota Fighting off Seattle to keep hope for a playoff run. The national league schedule last night wasn't anything special. The AL wild card has the same record as the best team in NL. There's only so much time to cover everything necessary. If they are going to cover daily transactions, they wouldn't get to the scores and highlights between the callups and releases and designation for assignments.

They do a great job covering baseball. Think about it, if they covered the devil rays, pirates, phillies more then the yanks and the sox. how many people would be angry? The entire nation perhaps. I think espn will take a few angry ventors over a Major city's population in a hearbeat. Besides, the yanks and sox are worth the majority coverage they created the biggest rivarly arguably in sports they have the greates charcters and both teams are historical legendary to say the least. Bottom line, the yanks and the sox dont cover the majority of air time on espn, there just always first up to bat. Major stories dominate the headlines the likes of Vick, bonds, nl race, al race, donagy etc. As far as favoritism for the al. Just take a look at the drama unfolding. New York suddenly on bostons heals. Seattle hanging by a shoelace. The tigers fighting off the indians. Maybe its just me, but thats a little bit more exciting then st louis's late surge, or texiera, or Milwakee. Word

NO. They favor the National league WAY TOO MUCH. The teams they only talk about is the Mets and the Cardinals and the Diamondbacks and everyone else in the National. They never talk about my Angels and the AL West. The only American league teams they do talk about are of course the Yankees and Red Sox.

they are biased, not so much Philips the ex Met GM
the AL are good because of they extra 2 players each team carry because of the DH rule. I'm a BIG NL guy & huge METS fan!!!
if the AL is so dominant they how come they have not won 10 straight World Series. take a look..
2006- St. Louis Cardinals (NL)
2005- Chicago White Sox (AL)
2004- Boston Redsox (AL)
2003- Florida Marlins (NL)
2002- Anaheim Angels (AL)
2001- Arizona Diamondbacks (NL)
2000- NY Yankees (AL)
all right they won 5 of the last 7 but at least its not like 20 or 50 in a row

The NL is poop because of the NL central. Lets take one City, Chicago.
If the White Sox where in the NL central and had to play those bums, then they would be in first. If the Cubbies had to play in the AL Central, Lou would be throwing bases everywhere. Seriously, you'd go to a restaurant, Lou would be sitting there and he would fling bases at your azz!
Now about Baseball Tonite and the Eastern Seaboard Programming Network? Its crap!

You might have a point, but You gotta understand that they only cover the popular stories and the best teams. I only see my team, the Orioles, on there when they play the Yankees or the Red Sox and we pummeled both recently. We aren't in a pennant race, so we don't matter. The Phillies are playing for something, so you got a legitimate beef.

i think they do a pretty good job of covering baseball in general. But there's no way for them to mention everytime someone goes on the DL or something like that. Not saying it isnt important or anything.

Their are 2 things I don't like about Baseball Tonight.
1. Their constant kissing up to the Yankees and all the whole show being dedicated to the Yankees
2. Steve Phillips! Is it me or does he HATE the Mets???? Every time he talks he blast the Mets!
