are schools required to give any kind of leave for pregnant teens? are there laws saying they have to take special classes in order to recieve homebound services?

absolutely not! And that should never change! If they do..kids will be popping out kids more and more. We need to be a society of tough love sometimes.

You need to check with your particular school system. There may be state law, but probably not. Each system will have their own way of doing it. In more populated areas, some schools provide day care and parenting classes. Call your local school board. They will generally do whatever they can to help you. It's their job to see that you get educated. Best of luck to you.

It is not the school system's job to see that you get an education, it is YOURS. They provide the tools, the facility and the staff - if you choose to get pregnant, it's on you to keep up as best you can.

They may have alternative schools you can attend and you should look into the ones in your district.

oh wow....this is new. I can't imagine that any school would allow this. I know they have day cares in high school, but to have leave laws? If the girl has to be on bed rest, then she can have her homework brought home to her every day. Pregnancy is a condition not a disease.

Only for the girls, the suspected fathers still have to attend classes.
