Keep only 1 antivirus on your computer. Choose which ever you like the best. With 2 of them running in the background they are both eating up your resorces and slowing down your computer.

A anti virus program looks for changes a program is trying to make to your hard drive and programs and operating system if you have to anti virus systems they both are looking at each other as a virus because they are both scanning the same things so it uses twice the CPU usage than normal and cause's conflicts with each other. You can run anti spy-ware and a anti virus at the same time and not have a problem and that will protect you better, but if you do not delete the cookies on a daily basis Even the spy ware can't help you.

you never have 2 virus protection software installed at the same time on the same machine, uninstall one and restart your machine.
I would keep avg but it is up to you.
Also go to start then run and type in msconfig and got to stratup tab and remove anything you dont need on startup. The only thing you really need on the startup is antivirs protection and firewall nearly everything else will run on demand after startup. This will speed up your startup.

You should never run more then one anti virus program at a time. They will conflict with each other. And when you set up your anti virus make sure that it doesn't do a scan on startup. That will slow your machine down quite a bit.

Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts.
Your best defense against computer viruses and malicious programs is to keep your virus definitions up to date

First of all, don't use 2 antivirus programs at the same time! So uninstall one of them from Start - Control Panel - Add/Remove programs. I would get rid of TrendMicro. Then get free antispyware software from this website: http://www.kiete.com/antispyware.html
Then your computer should be OK. For more help, contact me!

Why? because of fact it consistently searches for viruses. some circumstances it even is going on line for updates. i've got been in the technician field for a million twelve months for information superhighway service and that i might desire to cease or get rid of anti-virus utility off of shoppers' laptop because of fact it slows me right down to place in information superhighway on desktops. It's simple. You'll have to remove one of the antivirus.Un-install it or,if not possible, restart the computer in safe mode and then you can un-install one antivirus.
To restart in safe mode, keep pressing F8 key immediately when u start ur PC and select "safe mode" from the menu.Log in as administrator and un-install one antivirus which you didn't like.
