I understand why some people are angry about Bush starting the war, but I would like to see them run the country after the war was started. Bush is in an extremely difficult position; if he withdraws our troops, the Iraqi government can collapse and the insurgents might have an easier time getting our troops, but if he keeps our troops there, more will die and who knows how long we will have to stay there. I am not the biggest Bush fan, but at the moment, some people need to grow the hell up and respect how hard it is to be US President at times. It's not a walk in the park, like many who criticize every of Bush's moves think. Even my father, who is a Democrat, almost never has criticized Bush and he has said how hard it is to be US President and he says he could never imagine what he could do if he was President at the current moment.

I have made joke's about all candidates, but in all seriousness, even if i don't like as a person that is the President ,i still respect the office he holds and so on down the line, the general population should have the freedom to say what they like, but as a politician they should show a little respect to the Commander in Chief, we are a Country divided and we need someone that is for all the people, and not just the privileged.

I'd love to have a chance to run the country because I am positive I could do a better job than Bush has.

I, for one, do not believe in causing unnecessary wars and I'd like to see my people continue to live, rather than throw them in the Middle East and have them fend for themselves.

I have a hard enough time sleeping right now, thinking about all that is going on over there, and it disturbs me greatly that Bush doesn't seem to have any troubles sleeping at all.

I also certainly would not go on vacation during a time of war.

Unfortunately, I'm not yet 35, so I can't run.

Criticism of the government is always a healthy thing. You don't want to be in a country where you CAN'T say what you think about the leadership. In any case, regardless of whether or not it is a difficult job, he is performing it poorly and he needs to be held accountable to that, even if it is only in the form of people's criticism of his leadership. Don't allow defending attacks from Liberals become a knee jerk reaction or else when the attack is valid you stand to look like a fool.

Nice!

Your father (and my 46 y/o liberal girlfriend) is correct. Most people don't have any idea of what it's like to have the weight of the whole US and part of the world on their shoulders. We get to do our job and go home and relax. He has to go to bed (I don't know how he gets to sleep) with his work pressing him. They think that all the president (any president) does is sit at his desk and sign papers, go to parties and visit with other country leaders.

I would NEVER want to be a president of the US. I'm the president of a small corporation and believe me, that's enough because I can go home and relax at the end of the day. It's no wonder he has to take those vacations (which he works even then).

Bush is the one who wanted to do it. Live with it for another 17 months then let someone else lead us out of the deep valley of disgrace and despair that we are sunk into. Yeah, right. Most people who say they could do better, could not be elected dog catcher in Hyannis Port.
Most are not educated enough to know that government moves are all done in committee. Bush just happens to be the chairman at the time. I remember hearing the same things about Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson etc. Everyone can do a better job, just let them try and see where they go with it.

I don't want to run the country, and I agree, the bush bashing gets old and its not constructive.

The "illegal war" and "impeach bush" fringe is retarded.

I do think it is justified to comment on the foriegn policy of this president, and to criticize,

I think we need to do a better job of diplomacy.

I don't think we should cut and run in iraq,

but I agree with the poster of this question that essentially all the bush bashing just gets old after a while.

I have two sons in Iraq fighting for Bush's war on the middle class\tax breaks for the wealthy agenda.

Remember when Clinton was president (the good days) and the conservatives would fall to the ground foaming at the mouth screaming about tax breaks for the wealthy?

The outrage over Bush isn't actually about the war (that's just the gravy) it's actually a back lash against the religious right and their social agenda being used as subterfuge for Bush war on the middle class and his tax breaks for the wealthy agenda.

I don't think that anyone is denying that it is a difficult job, but it is one he willingly took. As far as respecting Bush, I feel that it is my right to speak how I feel about his policies, but it is disrespectful to talk about him personally. His decisions regarding this country affect me, and if I disagree, I will say so. However, he is our President, and I believe he does deserve respect if only because of the position he holds.

Most definitely; anyone who criticizes should have a chance in making decisions.
