I notice you have asked this question on her 49th birthday, which no-one seems to have picked up on. There is no doubt she has a special ability to put on a show, but when it comes to a singing voice I am afraid I don't rate her very highly. Having said that, if she entertains you who am I to criticise, as I'm sure I have preferences that you wouldn't enjoy.
Incidentally, she shares a birthday with someone who I also don't rate, namely Ulrika Johsson.

Way overrated. She ushered in the modern pop queen - all image & fluff, with little talent (Brittany, et al). She is a slight talent who made it big because of the MTV video image crapola. As Alvin Lee, former lead guitarist of the great classic rock band Ten Years After, states in the song "Play It Like It Used To Be" from his solo career, "Go tell Madonna she don't do nothing for me, I want that rock and roll music, play it like it used to be!"

like the beatles once said
" Lady Madonna, children at your feet
Wonder how you manage to make ends meet
Who finds the money when you pay the rent
Did you think that money was heaven sent "

I used to like her but I can't stand her now. She needs to act her age. People only know about her because of the stupid things she does, not her music. She should have retired a long time ago. She's really desperate.

I'm old enough to remember when she first got started so I will say this. I keep hearing about how she keeps re-inventing herself but while she has changed her look over the years, I see very little change in her act itself. It always revolves around sex and religion.

I think she's a genius, plain and simple.

Whether or not you are a fan of her music isn't the issue. She's a visionary. She changed pop music in the 80s, she changed the way women are viewed in the music industry, and she pushed the envelope over and over and over again - She's been unafraid of the consequences, has dealt with them brilliantly, and has come out stronger for it.

She's been versatile enough to change her sound and grow as a pop artist...she's constantly reinventing herself and her music. Yeah,I guess you could say I heart her!

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - here she comes!

OMG - and I want to look 1/4 as good as her when I'm 50, too!

Sorry. More than 20 years ago I thought she was a talentless one-hit wonder and although I was very wrong I've yet to work out her appeal. I guess she's just a very clever businesswoman.

I think she is alright, I haven' t really been a fan of her music since I was a little girl pretending to be a "Material Girl". She definetlely knows how to stay in the limelight though. I think her teaming up with Timbaland & Justin Timberlake is kinda funny, but we'll see what they come up with I guess!
