He isn't done as in retiring, but he may be done as in "will never be a dominant pitcher again."

Pedro is getting up in years, and injuriers have really taken their toll. Unlike most pitchers who are of large stature, Pedro must put enormous stress on this arm to generate the requisite speed to succeed. Years of doing that have really worn him down.

He is scheduled to return, but he got lit up like a Christmas tree in his first rehab start against some very mediocre single A talent.

The odds of him returning this year are good, but the odds of him returning to form aren't.

Pedro Martinez is my favorite player and he had a shoulder injury but today he is still playing. he is in minor league AAA. he is going to MLB in September if not he is staying in AAA. and the mets will lose the opportunity to win.

He had off-season shoulder surgery. He is on a rehab assignment in the minor leagues right now. He might pitch for the Mets in September or might just wait till next season and be 100% healthy.

Cheers

He's rehabbing now and should be back up with the Mets around the first week of September or so.

He'll be back from rotator cuff surgery in about two weeks. He has not been effective in rehab starts but that happens a lot in rehab starts.

He's injured. He made a rehab start the other night and didn't do to good. Could be a while before he comes back.
