Hi, Thank You for viewing my question.

I need insight from people who graduate from college and is in the work force -or- is a employer.

Well lets say you want to take two years of community college and then transfer to a University.

Will you be at a disadvantage to a four year UC gradulate?

and if yes how much does it differ.

Thank you for helping a lost high school senor.

No you are not at any disadvantage. Actually it is an advantage because you can take all the pre-required classes like basic math and english, which are needed with whatever major you have at a community college then transfer all your credits to a university and take classes that are designed for your major. This saves alot of money and time. Also check with your high school if there is a Community College in your area they should offer Dual-Enrollment and you could take college classes while you are still in high school. If you focuss on doing just pre-req's at a CC then you could be done in one year and two years at a University. Although make sure your earned credits at the CC will transfer to the University you chose.

Good Luck

If you do your first two years at community college, then transfer to a four-year school and get your bachelor's degree, you won't be looked at any differently in the job market from someone who did the whole four years at the 4-year school.

Community college can have lots of advantages. Classes are often much smaller, and costs are almost always substantially less.

Good luck.

I went to CC for 2 years, and saved a bunch of money - lower fees, no on-campus housing, and all my classes transferred no problem. I feel it was a good choice for me. There was also a four-year university that began offering BS degrees on the campus of my CC, so I never had to even move to get my BS degree. Look into it.
