Where do they sell really good grow lights the ones for vegetative growth and the one for flowering?

I have s greenhouse attached to my house and i wanna use the grow lights to grow aloe vera, because people buy from me because when an aloe leaf sheds of i take it and put it in the freezer and i sell the aloe gel by the pound!

The red light does increase flowering, however it's only one part of the whole flowering procedure in the plant. Colorado State University's floriculture program tried building a red fiberglass greenhouse to determine if they could increase flowering. It was a bust.

If you want to cover all bases you can get both warm and cool florescent tubes. This is a far cheaper way to go than to buy the grow tubes or grow lights. You realize you need to have the lights down within 12 inches of the plants, not just on the ceiling. In fact with African Violets I had the lights down within 6 inches.

I have not tried the new bulb type florescent lights.

Some of the compact fluorescents now available make great grow lights on a small scale. This sounds like a commercial venture so H.I.D. is the way to go. Check eBay. RScott

They sell them at Lowe's. But you don't really need a grow light to grow plants. A regular florescent bulb works as well. I heard this from a radio garden expert (Mike McGrath, wtop in Wash. DC) and I tried it myself. I start seeds in the spring and use regular florescent bulbs placed close to the plants and they get nice and bushy - no legginess. My zinnias and impatiens bloomed before it was time to go outside. I had one grow light and four non-grow lights and got the same results from all.

The little plant existence on tomato vegetation, write before you notice that first tiny tomatoe. i recognize this because of the fact I bruised my tail bone two times , because of the fact I freaked out because of the fact a bigggggin jumped on my hand.

Flowering is determined by the length of illumination per day not by the type of light.
