I know what you mean. I don't come on here very often but some of the responses you get are just rude, theres no need for it. I guess you might argue that peoples sense of humour might clash? I think that the anonymity gives them confidence, and they haven't got anything better to do. Which in the end makes me feel sorry for them. So ignore them hun, and focus on the people who matter.

It is terrible. I've asked a number of questions where people quite blatantly haven't read what I've written, they've just launched in on a tyraid about whatever they've got their knickers in a knot about that day. It winds me up too. Like a peeve of mine on here is when you ask a question that really isn't important, but you still want to know the answer, and people answer with 'get a life' or 'is that all you think about all day? what about war and hunger blah blah'. Without the random, irrelevant - but often interesting questions, Yahoo Answers would be too intense. Not all of us have the chance to write 3000 word epics on the pros and cons of asylum seeking or whatever.

I think that, as Amanda says, just ignore it. These are pretty silly people to answer in such a way, it's highly unnecessary and clearly they're just bored with their own incapacity to solve problems, so they try and belittle everyone else's. If people get too nasty or use bad language towards you, don't hesitate to report them. Don't be too nice to send a nice fat violation notice their way.

Its because they can hide behind the computer screen and remain anonymous, if it was face to face i doubt they would say boo to anyone ??.
But they are normally the first to complain when someone gives them a smartarse or rude answer to their questions !!.

It's awful, Sometimes people have nothing better to do but try to make others feel small, if the questions you ask are serious ones, you may have to weed through the bad to fine a nice one, hope you get some good answers to your other questions.

The situation is no different in real life; here people slander and abuse your ideas because you can't confront them, internet's a free-for-all area. In real life, people say the same, but behind your back since you can confront/challenge them if you feel offended.

Yahoo! can't do much about this problem, however, because it is much more complicated than we think. Lets just be grateful to them for putting up such a wonderful site for free.... its a VERY generous and appreciable work from them.

'cos they don't meet you face to face and can say what they like. Sometimes a question is phrased in such a way that it invites a rude answer.

A bloody silly questions (BSQ) deserves a bloody silly answer (BSA) oor at best a standard glib answer (SGA)

I've just been thrown off, and come back on again, so I'm still being nice. What a very good question. No need for it....

There are not only rude answers, there are many rude questions too, designed to inflict religious or ethnic hatred. I don't know why they do it. It just proves not everyone is nice.

Often, the questioner is also rude, or looking to stir up trouble, or just purely displaying ignorance.

Unfortunately, when you ask questions on an open forum, you are leaving yourself open to dickheads and keyboard warriors who, in real life, wouldn't have the balls to say it to your face, but hidden in their safe little room, behind a computer, it seems make them believe they can say what they like!!
ignore them....
