Last year he had a similiar ranking and was a bust. All the 'experts' had him between 10 and 15 overall. I took him very reluctantly with my second pick because there was no other good RB left.
What do you think of him this year?

Thanks!

3rd year is the breakout year for most football players

Well, I would not call him a complete bust last year, though he was definitely disappointing. A lot of the high rankings simply have to do with these three facts:

1. He is the #1 guy on the team.
2. Having at least two running backs that are #1 guys on their team is a MUST in fantasy football.
3. Brown played better in the second half of last year than he did early on.

Basically, his high ranking has a lot to do with his position. The difference between Brown and a third-rate running back is going to be higher than the difference between a star quarterback and the lesser quarterbacks or the star receivers and the secondary receivers. It is all relative.

That said, I would not take Brown in the first round, to be sure. Honestly, I don't completely trust him, either. But if he is your second running back, that is going to likely be better than ending up with Marion Barber or Tatum Bell or someone else who is splitting the load. You can drop him down your list and try to get Edgerrin James of Ahman Green or someone like that who is going later in the draft, but you risk ending up with lousy running after your first pick.

All that said, Ronnie Brown is not my top pick for a second running back. But I'd take him over a receiver or QB when you consider the number of good QBs and receivers that can be had later in the draft. Again, it is all relative.

I agree he's overrated, but he's still a definite #1 RB. There's no RBBC in Miami. Based on that alone, Brown has a lot of value and if you took him with your second rounder because there wasn't any other definited #1 RB you did what you had to do.

he'll be HUGE.
this year, Cam Cameron is the dolphins new coach. he's the same guy who got LT to be so good. ronnie has similar abiity, so Ithink that Brown could be very good this year for the phins
