our principal want me to build a website for our school... coz it'll celebrate its 75th yr anniversary.. atleast at this time we should have our own website right??

as the computer club president.. i am responsible for it.. but i dont have any idea where, how, and to whom we will purchase a domain.. please help me if you could..

im still a newbie to things like this.. coz i personally use only a free hosting sites for my website.. x_x

Well, primarily you have to shop for a good web hosting service provider. the biggest initial cash outlay you may have to pay would be the domain name. .COM names are more expensive, .PH names are cheaper. Next would be the monthly bandwidth that's allocated to the site, from 2gb above, could be as low as 100 a month to 500. Last to be considered would be storage, generally it starts from 150mb onwards. Check out these sites:

A domain name costs around $25 a year, but it is often difficult to get the name you want. Another way around this is sub domains. I can offer you a free site with a name like http://www.ppchaeduph.at3host.com Everything will be free, the name and the site. Contact me on my yahoo email (see my profile) and I'll go through it all with you. If your site is successful, you can still get a domain name at a later date.

They offer Domain, Hosting and the Software to build the site, They offer several different Plans, depending on how much space you may need.

All .edu domain names are handled by EDUCASE and the learning institution must meet certain qualifications to get a .edu name. Check out their FAQ for answers.
