See, sometime ago she told she liked him and I told her I liked some other guy instead of telling her the truth. Now, it turns out that he likes me and we've been spending a lot of time together and I know I have to tell her, but I don't know how to do it or how to bring up. I'm afraid she's gonna be so hurt that she won't talk to me anymore and we've been friends for years! What do I do?

You are in really dangerous territory. The fact that you have already been hanging out with him a lot without telling her is a bad thing. It is always best to be honest from the beginning.

I had a friend do this to me. We are still friends but it took us a while to get back to our good graces.

You need to talk to her ASAP. Tell her that you didn't tell her from the beginning because you were afraid to hurt her. Just be Honest. Make sure you don't let this keep going on behind her back because she will only hate you more.

well you should've told her the truth first. Oh God, that's tough. This is where your friendship is tested. Personally, I'd pick friends over guys anytime. But if you don't feel that way and you find it really hard to just break it to her immediately. I guess you could "play a game" like, i'll ask you something and then you answer, then ask me the same thing i asked you then i'll answer. so it'll go,
You: "who are you hitting on" or something, then she'll answer: Best friend: (insert guy's name)
You: ok ask me the question i asked you
Best friend: who are you hitting on? or something
You: (insert guy's name) (maybe you should avert your eyes humbly)
so then you'll say the guy's name and just kinda bow your head and say in a quiet humble voice "and he kinda like likes me too"

Oh but when I think about it, since the guy likes you, your best friend shouldn't be to crappy about it should she? i think she should support you and all. Oh and if you have time, maybe you should think of finding someone who likes your best friend too, maybe you could hook them up or something =) good luck =)
P.S i really think you should let her know you're hitting on him, BUT i also think that you keep your good friends with you =)

She will be more disappointed that you hid it from her than the actual relationship itself. Friendship means having a confidence in each other. Now, she'll feel like you kinda turned your back on that with this lie. Just let her know it was to spare her any pain or embarassment, but now that you are openly seeing this dude...she's the first one you needed to share it with! then, hug and apologize.

you have already put the guy in front of your friendship so you know you are going to lose a good friend. when he breaks up with you , then who will you have to run to? i would wait until no one else is around and tell her that you have been seeing someone for a while and shes not going to be happy about who it is. then be ready to hear about what she thinks about you because you deserve to hear it.

tough question. i dunno your situation very well and hence cant give u a solution without understanding your situation better.

but i guess you can ask her to confess to that guy and when that guy rejects her, tell him to add in that he likes you. i guess thats the best possible way out otherwise its very hard for you to move on. in fact, i am exactly in the same situation as you! read my questions that u will realise that we are more or less stuck with this stupid situation

WHAT YOU FEAR IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN, YOU WILL LOSE HER AS A FRIEND IF YOU TELL HER OR IF SHE FINDS OUT ON HER OWN. IF YOU CHERISH YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HER BREAK AWAY FROM HIM BEFORE SHE FINDS OUT ON HER OWN.

WHEN SHE IS INVOLVED WITH ANOTHER GUY LATER ON YOU WILL BE SAFE TO TELL HER THE TRUTH.

Just let her know and see how she feels. I meanif he liked her you wouldn't mind, so how can she be angry that he likes you?
