Dear all, following up my story posted http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtFLjNmfd_Vgoz_mBbX.PeEUGAx.?qid=20070816031511AAWpgc1
I'm trying to file a case against Claire's now. My lawyer just informed me that their headquater alleged their stuff only removed my infected stud because I requested them to REPEATEDLY so they finally agreed. This was just a total lie. I only asked her to check whether the swelling was still within reasonable range and she started doing sth to my ear. I felt huge pain so asked her what she tried to do. Then she replied she's taking it out. I immediately told her that tweezers would be needed to open it, as advised by her colleague who pierced my ears. She totally ignored my info and forcefully pulling it with bare hands. Well, I ended in hospital. However they totally deny it now. I'm just furious.
My lawyer said other people's case would be helpful reg problem with their training, so anybody with similar experience please help! Thanks a lot

Find a different lawyer then. If they are denying what happened then it's only their word against yours so you might not have a case. Try to find out if there is any survaillence footage or anything like that. If you keep pushing the issue, then you might be able to settle out of court and get some kind of compensation from them.

Honestly, did you research about piercings before you got them done?? Claire's is not the place to get something like that done. Piercing guns are not good. You should have gone to a piercing/tattoo studio and had them done by a professional with a needle. Not lecturing.....you are just unfortunately a great example of why you should go to a professional, not retail store.

Best of luck!

I totally agree!!!! I brought a necklace from claires and the moment I took it out of the bag it fell apart! So I took it back and the teenager working behind the till said "Sorry, your too young to take this back" What-ever! She looked to young to be working there. So, i'm old enough to buy the item but too young to take it back. So i called my mum and they STILL wouldn't give her money back. So she wrote to head office. No reply. She called. No reply. She wasn't going to give up. Eventually she got a reply she had such a go at them. In writing and on the phone. So eventually i got a letter which says that they cannot refuse refunds to minors. And the girl got fired. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO: Get your hospital records of what happened and take that to court. CLAIRES ARE RUBBISH Good Luck x

wish i could help - claires suck! their piercing is a terrible idea - piercing guns are the worst way of doing it, there's no way that piercing guns can ever be properly sterile - and i'm guessing the staff don't have a massive amount of training...

i really hope you win
