I just bought a 22" lcd monitor.
It is awesome lol.
anyways the native resolution for my monitor is 1680x1050.
First if all, can anyone tell me what the aspect ratio of this monitor is?
Also, i have games that do not support such a high resolution.
What is the next best resolution to run my games at, so that I will still get the clearest picture, despite rescaling?

1680 by 1050 is 16:10 aspect ratio.

The best option for a lower resolution is an exact division of the native resolution. So 840 by 525. However I do not think that this exists as a defined standard.

I would run the game at the highest widescreen resolution that you can still get a decent frame rate at. You might notice some blur on static images, but I doubt that you would notice a difference on anything that is moving.
