How do you make coin rings with the design on the outside? Everything I have found only shows how the design winds up on the inside (http://cleanstream.net/mirrors/coin_ring... and http://homepage.mac.com/johnhuber/coinri...

I know the design can be put on the outside though because I've seen them for sale (http://cgi.ebay.com/1904-barber-half-dol... and http://www.libraryshop.org/usicoje.html)...

I can't figure out how this is done so any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Pictures would be wonderful too!

One of the coin magazines had an article about coin rings sometime ago. I can not remember which one. A person that may help you is answerman2@aol.com. He writes a column and answers numismatic questions for Numismatic News the weekly coin paper. He has been around a long tome and just might have the answer or knows where you can get it. Sorry this is the best I can do.

I can only get your last link to work, but I don't see a coin ring on that page so I may not be understanding your question. But, if you found instructions and the only problem with them is that the design ends upon the inside, couldn't you just reverse the coin when you make it?

Or, not polish the outside to flatten the design?
