Can you please decipher this for me.

This cipher appeared in an old Royal Air Force pocket book dated 1937. It is a transposition type cipher with a message asking for help.

What is the message?

How many more men need to be sent?

Again? Now it is NOT a transposition. OK? It is a substitution. move back 4 letters to find the correct letters:

A ... ZYXW so A becomes W
M ... LKJI so M becomes I
V ....UTSR so V becomes R

AMV... WIR.....

I will let you finish it
