i just had a couple of things done to my computer,more hard drive etc.my computer is not that old maybe 12 months,am running xp.colour etc on computer is very good but when i play a video file is clear but very dark even tried vlc media player but still very dark,my moniter settings are fine,as i said only when play video,anyway decided when i got other things done would get a graphics card added was told this would improve this is a inno 3d 256mb fx 5500 8x agp graphics card,there was no improvement in fact seems a little more darker,am very dissapointed was a waste of money.setting for video card seem good.any suggestions.

If your original onboard video is Intel GMA, the default video overlay tends to be dark. Contrast is at 50 and brightness is very low. Try playing around with the controls to suit your taste.

Go into the GUI for the video card and adjust the settings there. Make sure that card is compatible with your board because, I believe its the VooDoo card that runs on the old AGP boards and takes more power and if you run it on a newer board that takes the lower voltage cards you will be really unhappy when it fries your motherboard.
