Music can act as a distraction, particularly when you're driving and looking for an address simultaneously. Turning down the volume is just a way of reducing the amount of distraction.
Remember, it is extremely dangerous to play a radio loudly in your car. Not only is it distracting, but you may not be able to hear emergency vehicle sirens or the horns of other vehicles etc.

Because your mind wants to focus on the address but gets disrupted by the radio. So to make things easier for yourself, you turn the volume down.

i think it is because since you are focused on the address and not the road you are trying to eliminate as many distractions as you can. turning down the radio enables you to hear your surroundings better. this also helps you to concentrate on what you're looking for expecially if you've never been there.
hope i helped

Because you need to concentrate. Just now you end up trying to look for a street named 'it's a beautiful day...'
