What the hell?! I was just sitting on my bed watching t.v. and all of a sudden I felt blood gushing from my hooha, but wait a minuet... I just put this tampon in an hour ago..? I say "o.k. then..." and I go to change my tampon. All of a sudden I pull it out and it's like this 3 inch decrescendo cascade of the wall of my uterus hanging from the tip of my tampon. It was INSANE! What the hell is this all about. Ladies, has this ever happened to you? It was really wierd, like I said, it was 3 inches long, very thick and squishy, and 1 inch wide at the top where the tampon is, to a drip of blood. It's like I just sped up a whole day of my period from pulling that thing out. Does anybody know what I'm talking about here. I mean this has NEVER happened to me before, I was shocked. I literarly pulled out a chunck of a wall of blood from my uterus on the first day of my period (not my first period itself, just this month's)! What is going on? Is this normal? Someone help please!!!!

Totally normal. It happens me sometimes too. I have also noticed that the older I get, (I am 30) the more clotting I seem to have. Although I have been experiencing clots since I first started getting my period at 12. First, I asked my mom and she said it was normal. I have also asked my Gyn about it before and she said it was normal too. Nothing to worry about.

What you are describing is a clot caused by the lining that the uterus is trying to get rid of this month. It is normal for some women to have clots during their periods which is caused by the uterus trying to rid itself of the lining it didn't need that month because no pregnancy occurred.

But if the clot gets to the size of bigger than a quarter (which would be about 3 or 5 inches) then there's reason for concern.

I would recommend talking to your doctor as well for additional information to see what they say.

same thing happens to me all the time... everyone tried to tell me something was wrong so i ran to my dr. lol he kinda laughed at me... ( not trying to be mean though) and said its just a clot. mine are sometimes pretty large about the size of a lemon... dr. just said it was because i have a larger uterus then most.....

unfortunately i do know what you mean :s periods can sometimes be heavier, sometimes lighter, it varies between months - something might have caused you to build up extra womb lining this cycle. on the plus side it often means you finish a day sooner

its sounds fairly normal, in a gross way. lol, its just a natural part of your period. but if you still feel uncomfortable about it, i suggest you call your doctor.
