I don't understand your logic.

So I respect ghosts now?

And monsters?

And even terrorists?!

No. Fear is fear. I had no respect for the abuse i suffered in childhood as a way of control. My mother lost control and therefore used abuse. At 47 i still fear the woman.
Now, on the other hand, if she had showed respect for me, i would have shown respect back. A child can only learn from what they see. My kids were brought up on the love, respect thing. Make a mistake, learn...no punish. The learning process is enough. Far more than enough. Especially as a teenager.
Respect is earned, not brought about by fear.

No. Many people mistakenly believe that if they can get someone to fear them that it means that they're respected by them... they're not. With respect comes heartfelt loyalty and no force at all behind the emotions felt. With fear one is merely behaving in ways to not offend because there would be repercussion if they did. It doesn't mean they feel genuine respect for the person.

Definitely NOT.
This word respect has being totally abused.
But sometimes out of fear or ignorance respect comes with understanding. Sorry I don't appear to have explained this very well, But I hope you know what I am trying to say

No... There is some form of respect out of fear, but that is altogther a different thing.

One who fears long enough, will attempt anything so as not to fear anymore.....

Respect is gained by those whom one encounters on a mutual basis.

No. Respect is when you treat everyone the same by choice. Fear is when you treat someone better than because you are afraid of them.

No, I respect my boss, but i don't fear him. Respect is aknowleging that someone has been there, done that. Also, respect is knowing that your not the only person who has feelings and emotions about everything.

No.
If I respect my partner it doesn't mean I fear him.
It means I accept his views, opinions, decisions, etc as long as I agree with them.
Respect is understanding other peoples way of life and acknowledge they don't nee to be like us....
Respect is also not f*****g a girl that you really like from the first date...

I think most people have missed your point.
I think you do mean more with gangsters etc. that they claim they are respected when actually its fear people have of them. So in this case its yes but otherwise no.

No. respect is the just reaction of fear. example is that when you fear someone, you respect him so that he won't do anything bad to you.
