A most interesting question.

Very generally speaking, the earth and water signs lean towards the conservative side of politics, while the air and fire signs are more typically liberal in their political outlook.

Aquarius is the most politically radical of the signs. Aquarians are most likely to support and demonstrate for the rights of minorities and push for social and political change. Uranus, the current ruler of Aquarius, was discovered in 1781, shortly after the American Revolution and shortly before the French Revolution.

Capricorn is the most poltically conservative sign. Capricorns respect the traditions of the past and attempt to sustain the status quo. They prefer the "tried and true" and old fashioned values.

I actually think this is an interesting question... although I don't believe its as simple as their sun sign. I reckon politics is often formed by families and social groups (ie people tend to vote the way their parents or college friends vote) - so the area a person was brought up would have the biggest influence. But I think by looking at someones whole chart you would be able to tell if they would be an independent/rebellious thinker, developing their own political views- ie placement of Uranus, or would be more happy to toe the line drawn by others, also you could tell if they tend towards humanitarian or individualistic aims - perhaps looking at the planets near the midheaven and ascendant.

I highly doubt it. You have to look at the whole chart to see into their whole personalities. Politics and people can be very complex.
