Well to start everyone that has said that they do not sleep is VERY wrong, they do. The unknown is more the exact details on how some do.

Species like the epaulette shark, who do not have to swim to breathe do nothing more than find a safe place to sleep, then well, they sleep.

Species however that have to swim to breathe do not have the option to stop so they are a bit different, though they do still sleep. They are able to shut enough of their brain down to get rest but remain active enough not to stop and die. The most simple way to look at it is, it is kinda like how humans sleep walk. Sharks are just the same, sleep swimming.

People are not exactly sure. In order to survive they would need oxygen and this is obtained by forcing water through their gills. This can be done only while swimming. There is speculation that the shark could be sleep-swimming ie its physical activity could exist but mental activity could be nada

Sharks dont sleep but meditate and bask in warm waters.

well idk if they do the same as whales and dolphins do but they probably sleep half of their brain while the other half is still awake i think the only shark that really sleeps is the nurse shark at seaworld they are always at the bottom of the aquarium

sharks never go to sleep and they never stop moving either because if they do they sink, however, i am sure that they rest at times, but they are always swimming/moving......

Quite peacefully most of the time. They do occasionally suffer from wet dreams however!

its not really been proved that they do sleep but it is believed that they sleep with their eyes open!
