Survey: Who did you like better your mom or dad and why? Honest answers please?

My mom has been cheating on my dad since I was 6. That's nine years. She's never home because she's always at his house and out at the bars with her friends. She's not here Christmas Eve or New Years. She's only home when she HAS to be because she likes to spend time in the next city with her boyfriend and friends. I can't remember the last weekend night she spent at home. She's never home really...and when she is all she does is criticize the rest of the family, point out everything wrong with us and the house and start endless amounts of arguments. Sometimes she says she loves me, just so I'll say it in return, to make sure I don't hate her for everything she's done. But I do...

so that leaves my dad...and though he's really annoying, I sure like him better than that woman who calls herself my mom.

I'm much closer to my dad. People might think it's a girl thing, the whole 'daddy's little girl' idea. In truth, it's more of a culture thing.

My mom is a born and raised Filipino, my dad is All-American. Because of this, she's much harsher (MUST get good grades) and a strict follower of gender roles (cooking, cleaning, doesn't want me to have a boyfriend until I'm 18, no staying out late)
My dad, on the other hand, is much more lenient. He spoils me and the trust is much more visible.

I love them both, but my mom and I clash too much. Maybe it's because I've been raised as an American, but we always disagree.

Then again, it could just be a girl thing.

Honestly and seriously, I liked my Dad better.... I think he actually loved me. My mom was jealous of the time he spent with me, which absolutely wasn't very much... I am their oldest daughter. My mom used to say mean things, like, "It's okay to be plain, it's more important what you are inside", and then brag about how cute my sisters were. Or to visitors who would comment on their three beautiful daughters, "yes, the two younger ones really are." My mom told me no one would ever love me, would limit my food because I was fat enough, etc. (Pictures of me as a child show a skinny little girl)... I guess parents don't always realize the impact.

in other words, it's a question I can''t honestly answer ... and maybe that makes me lucky ... or just old enough to realize that they each had to go thru a lot of s*** in raising a large family with "limited resources" ... and they both worked their butts off and did without and all that guilt-tripping stuff that's probably pretty true.

It's not a choice that my nervous system can make ...

I've thought about things too much, and seen my own opinions and decisions change too many times to have confidence that such a "choice" would not be a "TRUE" decision.

i love them both. my Dad died when I was 8 yrs old, I'm 45 now. my Mom is will be 70 next year, and we are friends. I miss my Dad everyday. Can't decide on an answer for your question.

I like my mom better most of the times, even though I like my dad he can sometimes act like he is superior to everyone else, which really annoys me. N he complains a lot too.

My mom because I hate my dad and have no clue why my mom puts up with him:

He drinks alot (even though I recycle the cans)
He is ALWAYS on his comp and doesn't have any time for my mom and I
He yells way too much
He calls my mom and I names, and pretty much tells us we can't do it and trys to make us feel stupid
He looks at porn
He hit me when I was little
He automaticly blames me if something is broken or doesn't work right
He threatens to break my stuff or throw away my stuff etc if I don't do what he wants or yells at him for things
And a bunch of other ****
Oh he also lies to my grandparents making them think my my mom is a hypocondriact and spends all our money, but its actually my dad who spends it on computer **** he doesn't need so my mom and I can't touch the money whatsoever
Also hes the reason why we never go on vacation
Once I hurt my ankle and I wanted to go to the doctors to make sure I didn't seriously injure it and he told me I had to pay him 400$ out of my own pocket if I wanted to go
Hes taken money out of a savings account set up by my mom and my grandparents stupidly put him incharge of all my college funds etc and hes threatened to take it all out if I disobey him, hes evne told me that he emptied it along time ago (I have at least 2 accounts with more then 10 k in it for a car and college)
Over all my dad makes me wish I were dead

My mom on the other hand
Shes really nice to me
We can talk about anything and she won't yell or ***** unless shes tired or in pain
She lets me listen to my music in the car unlike my dad who only listens to talk shows and won't let me talk or voicem y opinions in any way
My mom and I play alo tof bored games and she always has tiem ot spend with me
She letsm e buy extra things at the store
Shes liek another teen but knows how to be adultlike when she needs to be
Shes actually willing to pay decently when I do chores
Whenever I'm upset or angry she letsm e snuggle up to her or even sit on her lap (even though she has a bad back and I'm 100-112 pounds, my weight changes)
And alot of that stuff overall shesa fun, loving person

Both my parents do silly things but my mom and I can laugh about it alot easier instead my dad yells or blames others

Well, when I was little, my dad he was always fun to be around and he would always takes us places whereas my mom would be the disciplinarian, when I reached my teens, my mom was my best friend and I grew apart from my dad.
