No. I drag around the expectations people have of me, and my family responsibilities.
I go to school because I am expected to (and because my mom worked damn hard to get me to this place), and I study and work hard because I have to succeed so that my family can feel like their sacrifice has paid off.
I'm not even free when I go out in public. People immediately look at me and form opinions, and treat me accordingly. It's a constant fight to be respected.
I'm not alone. We each have different experiences, but I don't think any of us are truly free.
