15 years ago i went to community college. i didn't know what i wanted to major in so i majored in liberal arts. i did get my AA in liberal arts. while i was in college i was working full time and got a few promotions and raises so decided to stay at my current career and leave school. if i were transfer to a 4 year state school and get a bachelor degree in something other than liberal arts will it take 2 years? Or will it take longer because I didn't get my AA in that field? Also if i didn't get my liberal arts degree would i have had to still take those classes to get my BA or Bs degree

If you took mostly core classes, and the credit hours transfer, you should have no trouble graduating in 2 years. In reality, it is fairly easy full-time to graduate in 3 years total, as long as you plan correctly.

Good luck.

The length of the program depends upon a couple of things. First of all, I am assuming (not always a good assumption) that they will count classes you took 15 years ago. Secondly, depending upon what and where you decide to study now, the requirements will differ, so they will look at those requirements and the courses you took and count those courses which fulfilled requirements for your new major. That may mean that you only have two years left if all of your old classes fill requirements of the new degree, or it might be more if that is not the case. Some schools have a lot of liberal arts classes among their general education, or core, requirements for the bachelor's degree; others do not.

Don't worry. Tons of those classes will transfer. Plus you've probably taken plenty of the core requirements for the undergraduate degree. Get a copy of your transcript from the CC you attended (check their website for how to order copies of your transcript), then go through the websites of the universities that you're interested in and review their university core requirements as well as the requirements for your major. Also, consider visiting the universities with a copy of your transcript and talking to someone there who can help you. A lot of times the website alone can give you great information on what classes can transfer (search through their information for transfer students). Depending on your major, you can still graduate in two years. Some majors, such as engineering and architecture, would take longer. Good luck.
