Malaysians working in Europe in the summer or short stint. Permit and visa issues

2007-08-15 19:32:28 · 3 answers · asked by Matthew W 1 in Travel Europe (Continental) Other - Europe

Preferably a short stint, for 3 months as training or attachment. I don't have any particular European countries to choose at, but would prefer countries with rich culture and good working environment. My country is from Malaysia, and i don't think it's difficult to obtain a visa from an EU countries.

Is there any programmes which offer undergraduates from Asian countries to work temporarily/short stint in europe, like the UK's Holiday Work Maker programme?

Thanks alot to those who replied.

Europe is a big place made up of different countries with different requirements for labour. First decide on the country you'd like to stay at. Then check the visa requirements and the employment opportunities as well, since these are two different things. When you're issued a tourist visa, employment is usually not allowed. The most attractive countries would obviously be the West European countries, but they also have stricter laws.
The non EU countries have separate approaches, too. So, there's not one single method you can adopt for all of them. Select a few, then work into the details.
Good luck:)

If you are below 30 and unattached (married) then you may work for a year under "Holiday Visa" in Europe, Canada or Australia. It's a very interesting and great experience.

Good luck.

Hi,

The best way, to apply Embassy, I mean, if you want to go Germany or Finland, first check the immigration status...

Regards and Good Luck
