You have to convince them that you really want to work .
Call them back to find out how the application is going .
Maybe the better choice is to apply with a construction services agency .
Look in the yellow pages for employment agencies and look for ones that send you out on temp jobs .
They get you started and get you some experience .
If you show up on time and ready to work , many will offer them full time permanent later on .

Be patient , getting started in the work world is Not easy , good luck !

There are several things that employers look at when they hire someone. The first and most important is: How are you dressed? If you don't look like someone that would work there, they won't even consider you. Make yourself look like the people who work there, and you can at least get your foot in the door.

Once you have your foot in the door...you have to sell yourself to the employer...but you don't want to be the one to monopolize the conversation. I always get hired because I look professional, I let the HR person do all the talking giving them the opportunity to steer the conversation, and I answer every question positively letting them know that I can do whatever they ask. I also let them know that if I don't know the answer, I go out of my way to find it. You have to set yourself apart...know what makes you special and hammer those points home in the interview. For example, are you great with computers? Numbers? Music? Working with people? Artistic? Etc. Sell yourself right and you'll get every job you want.

Lastly, if there is a job you really want, research the company first. Let the HR person know that you are familiar with their company and their products and you will make a very good impression.

Hope this helps.

Employ yourself sometimes you can not wait for someone else to pay you dirt to be their slave and take out taxes without your permission. The truth is regular "jobs" do not even provide a subsistence living. You do the math. Look anywhere in the newspaper take out taxes figure your bills and I'll bet you you could not make it if you tried on any of those "good jobs" they have in the newspaper. If you have a skill you set the price you get the jobs. You keep all the money. If it takes twenty different side things it is better than being a slave for someone else and having to wait for someone else to tell you what you are worth.

Make sure you are following up on your applications. Give the company a call about a week after you turn it in and ask if you can schedule an interview. Sometimes the thing that will make you stand out from the pack isn't necessarily on your resume - it's your persistence. Good luck!!

maby the fact that u have just left school and maybe all these jobs are looking for candidates with more qualifications and experience.
depending on what jobs u are applying for, maby try doing a course at college, applying for an apprentice and be trained up to ure ideal job.
voluntary always helps, when employers see that on ure CV, most of the time they dont think twice about given u the job.
good luck

Nothing wrong your're doing since one job that you applied asked you for an interview go on and tr your best in it.
The Interviews are not that hard becuase mostly it talks about your personality or what u would like to be?

One of the main points of a job is calling BACK your employer. They want to see that you are interested. Its kinda weird that you applied to so many instead of focusing on just a few. Call them back.

You need to call the place a week after you apply. Then they'll usually hire you.
