Do you mean Artaud's Theatre of the Absurd?

Not much, really. Artaud's idea was to shake up the Bouge...and to make them think.

About what? Their comfortable lives.

Along with Dada, TA was an adolescent prank pulled on overly serious, black-clad Film School types. We were just kidding, sheesh, they cry from the grave.

TA is given its genealogy from Music Hall, Circus, and most importantly from the British Tradition of taking things simultaneously too seriously, and not seriously enough.

All in all........it is Absurd, as is this dissertation

have you asked your web browser this question? The Absurdists owe a debt to the Theatre of Cuelty, Dadaism, and other movements which wanted to shake up the status quo. to Existentialism as well. Read the book Theatre of the Absurd.
