We can't go accusing them. If they did, well, then they should burn in hell. If they didn't, then imagine how terrible that must be: to not only have lost your child, but to be blamed for her death?
Was I the only one who thought Bob Murat was a little bit of a scapegoat? They searched his house, found nothing. Searched his house, found nothing. If they were going to find something, surely they would have found it already? I agree that he should burn in hell if he did, but what if he didn't? He has been called a child murderer and quite possbily a molester. If they didn't ever find her body, would the blame still be heaped on his shoulders?

I would agree with parts of what you say ie motive and there has been a lot of unfounded and unnecessary comments re the Mcanns on here. There has also been a lot of pro comments which have been disagreable ie the poor Mcanns should be left alone they have suffered enough and they did nothing wrong.I would and always have dissagreed with these comments and will continue to do so.The one thing I have been constant with is my criticism of the Mcanns in that they are BAD parents who think only of their own pleasure. They left a 4 year and 2 year old twins in an unlocked room and went off drinking with friends. If reports are true about last year they left a 3 year old and 1 year old twins alone in a foreign country while they went off drinking with friends. These are FACTS and anyone who say they agree with what the Mcanns did I would say are either related or as bad as the Mcanns. These two people are supposedly intelliigent people and as doctors they should have been more aware of the dangers of leaving 3 children of that age alone and that is without being kidnapped. They say they were going back to check every half hour yet it only takes 3-4 minutes for a child of that age choke. If a fire breaks out it may only take 2 minutes to get to the appartment. In that time the children could be dead. They left the door unlocked the 4 year old could have opened the door and if photographs of the appartment are anything to go by the little girl was straight out on the road and could have been killed by traffic. The only comment which I possibly could envisage is the theory that the Mcanns came back and found the little girl dead and could possibly see a motive there for them to cover up.As you said everything has a motive. If the abductor was looking for children to sell to childless couples(which does happen) and according to Mcann statements to the press they thought they were being watched(another reason not to leave their children alone) then why did the abductor only take the 4 year old why not take all three. These child peddlars dont operate individually they are usually part of a well organised group and they are in it for money(proven fact) and I would think that a two year old would command a higher price than a four year old who could possibly blow the whistle on anyone taking them.I think the Mcanns have a lot to anwer for but I dont think they will because they seem to be too well connected and friends in high places go a long way to help

All we know for certain is that Madeleine has disappeared. We don't know how or why. We can't possibly guess at a motive without knowing what happended to her. The abduction theory has now, apparently, be disgarded by the Police and we now have the possibility that Madeleine died in the apartment. If that is so, we don't know the cause of death and we don't know who removed the body and when. And, as Dave s has said and as reported in the Press, the twins slept through the 'incident' and right through the subsequent uproar, including being carried out of the apartment by the Police.
As more facts emerge the stranger everything becomes. Unless you are semi conscious you are going to ask questions about the whys and wherefores of this case. Moreover, the constant publicity surrounding the case have ensured that it's kept in the public eye, which means the constant speculation will go on.

I don't know about in the Uk but here in the US we see more often then I would like to see a child being killed by their parent. What could the motive ever be? I think most of the time it is because the parents just snap ya know what I mean. I am not saying this is the case but...the twins are only 18 mos old. It could be very possible that Kate has been suffering from Post Partum for all this time untreated. Post Partum is a pretty messed up thing, It really stinks to have it. I have 5 children and unfortunatly suffered from it with 1 of them and I remember 1 night waking my husband in the middle of the night when the baby was crying telling him he needed to get up and take care of the baby because I was about to snap. Luckily I had sense enough to do that. Also luckily for me time took care of it. I have 2 relatives that were on meds for 2 years after they had their babies before they were free of post partum. So that would be the only thing I could think. I am so confused now with this story. Yesterday I read one thing that said the blood was hers and another that said it belonged to a man. So until the police arrest someone I guess I can still only think that different things are possibilities.

How many more times, it is NOT a campaign of hate! It is a desire to discover the truth about May 3rd.
As for a motive, how about it was the result of an accident? The motive for concealment? The Mccann children had been neglected, not one night but EVERY night. The parents stood to lose a great deal, their careers, even the possibility of having the twins taken away.
And can any Mccann supporter address the issue of all the lies that were told. One other issue, if the Mccann's were so convinced that Madeleine had been abducted, WHY did THEY not call the police straight away? Why was that left to the complex manager, off his own bat? Why did the British diplomat in Portugal know that Madeleine was missing BEFORE the police knew? I can understand Gerry making use of his contacts subsequently - to jolly the police on, but to make contact with the PM's office first? Isn't that a little odd? And why did they permit 20 + people to enter the crime scene?
Hi Faith, my point was, surely you would call the police first? I did say i can understand making use of contacts, i would too, but not contacting the police straight away is odd surely?
As for the crime scene, yes they did by implication know the room was precisely that - the Mccann's insisted straight away that Madeleine had been abducted from her bed.

Good question and one I have thought of many times. Madeleine looks like a bright , beautiful young child. I have no idea what kind of motive any body would have to want their child dead or abducted.
At first I wondered if maybe they needed money, but I'm pretty sure that can be ruled out.
I honestly can't think of a motive for this.
If we could maybe it could put some light on maddies' disappearance.
God bless her. ♥

Your question of motive would be a sensible one outside of a family situation. Many children are killed by their parents for little more than because the parents 'snap' during a stressful moment and handle their child in a rough manner. I doubt, if any of the family were involved, that 'murder' would be applicable. It is also a common feature in Infanticide to panic and hope to deflect the investigation to a third party, particularly amongst those who feel they have a lot to lose from being labelled with causing the death of their child.
But the fact remains that children are more likely to die as a result of acts of unintentional harm perpetrated on a them in the vast majority of cases as the result of a parent / carer rather than intentional harm perpetrated by a stranger with a motive.
I hope in either case none of the above applies and she turns up alive.

Ok first off i'm not sure if i think any sane parent could have any part in the kidnap and or murder of their own child but we all know of cases so the sadness does excist!
By way of motive it would be something simple like money! Poor child sold to a childless couple, and thats a best case scenario of what could of happened down this train of thought!!!

It might have been an accident and they got rid of the body becauise they were scared that it looked suspicious. Didn't think of that theory did you? I personally don't believe that they "did it", I just think they were out of order leaving three babies in the house on their own. I am not going to say anymore though. I'm done saying it all now, the little girl is still missing, probably dead, and the parents are going to get let off from neglecting the children, and maybe one day the truth will come out and we will finally know what happened to her.
Untill then, let's just all get on with our lives.

now it turns out the blood on the wall was not madelines, it's accomplished nothing except give the portugese police/media a chance to shoot their mouths off, with more theories & no substance.
the mccanns are guilty,
for lacking in common-sense,
guilty of neglect &
guilty of denying their guilt, from the very start.
if they'd made it clear from the beginning that they make a habit of leaving their kids. ( turns out they did exactly the same thing on holiday in greece, last year ).
normal behaviour to leave 3 children to sleep unattended while they wined & dined, so for two highly-educated individuals they appear really dumb!
WELL
who knows what's going on inside their heads!
