When, why, and maybe even who? Was is Boston that started it or another team...i know that the Twins do it to after the 7th inning while the Red Sox do it mid 8th.

It started after John Henry bought the team from Jean Yawkey's estate. Definitely after 2001. Now they actually put the words up on the stadium vision. Not the national anthem, take me out to the ballgame or God Bless America. You're on your own with those, but Sweet Caroline, that's up on the board. Dirty Water goes back to the 90s. Tessie I think started with the 2004 season.

everyone at fenway sings it, to show how strong the red sox family is.
