that particular province.. wherein when you buy the mango seed you have to have a permit to take that seedling out of that province? i've forgotten where that province is but it's known to harvest the sweetest mangoes in the phils. you have to take a boat ride before you get to that province.. i think it's near iloilo...

It's in Guimaras, a tiny island province about a 10 minutes motorized banca ride from Iloilo City.
Yes the mangoes there are so sweet that's why during mango season I never forgot to bring about 10 kilos of green to ripe mangoes to Manila whenever I visit the place.

That can only be Guimaras. The sweetest Philippine mango. You need a permit to take out a mango seedling from there and under no circumstances are you allowed to take a plant/seed of a fruit inside as well =)

It's in Guimaras Island, you're right it's near Iloilo. Mangoes that come from there are considered the best in the world. They usually have strict plant protection and export guidelines before you can export their mangoes.

They have the sweetest mangoes. The place is protected because their mangoes are accredited by the US to be insects-free, and are allowed to be brought to the USA.
