I would try and make a swift and quiet exit with my loved ones and make a 911 call from the neighbor's house. Is this the best plan? What if the exit is not so easy to do?

I think you have a great plan. I'd grab the phone & call 9-1-1 from a closet, or behind a door, or something. I'd be too terrified to think clearly!

Probably make them wish they never entered the house in the first place but haven't said that, what you do and what you say tend to be two different things.

If you made a quiet exit you have to be sure the exit is accessible easily especially with kids. The best thing would be to make an emergency call and keep quiet till help arrives. Put a picture of a policeman in a frame in the house ( even if no one is a police man) or police protection sign on the window. That will make them think twice.

Well....I am neighbors with the Fish and Game Warden's office, I live behind the State Police Station and the Sheriff's Office is about 1/4 mile away from me. If the intruder is stupid enough try to break into my place....They will then meet me and my trusty Magnum Research "Baby Desert Eagle" .40S&W. I will not hasitate to shoot the idiot. Then call 911.

I would do anything it took to insure that my loved ones were safe. By any means necessary. I would of coarse try first to not alarm my children, calling 911. try to get rid of the intruder. but whatever it came to, to saved my loved ones. after all this intruder not only invaded my house where i should be able to feel safe, but has disturbed my emotional, and mental well being. and they are intruding on my property, makes them fair game????

I'd shoot first and ask questions later. My neighbor had someone running around their backyard and called the cops. When they got there the guy had run off but the cop said if you see someone in your house shoot them in the front, never in the back. He said you can claim self defense even if they don't have a weapon.

I would take out 30 something years worth of aggression. The individual would have to have a death wish. I treat anything and anyone who comes in my house the same, unwelcomed. Whether its an insect or a human, consider it a dead bug.

Pee my pants & cry that I am about to die.

Haha. No, I would probably run grap a bat, grap my cell phone, run like heck out of the house, hide behind a bush or whatever & call 9-1-1. And then, if the jerk comes out & finds me, I would bash the crap out of him with my major bat skill. That should show that jerk for trying to break into my house. =D

it actually happned to us, from experience, it's very hard to make ur plan go smooth like u described it.. everybody was panicing at that moment , but it's not bad to do that.. i think if u want to be secure put alarm to ur house that way u will be more safe!

I would not want anyones death on my hands so i would grab the .40 S&W and fire a warning shot to scare them away. If that doesn't work then i would shoot to wound not kill.
