White base with black tips, on semi-short, semi-rounded nails.

I was told it was very difficult to do...

So would it look messy?

Ahh, my question sounds stupid, I don't know how to ask it. x)

The trick is to apply the white base first & allow it to dry completely before applying the black tips.

You can apply a bit of scotch tape as a guide after the white base has dried completely.

Or you can use the cardboard cut out trick shown in this video after the white base has dried: http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-give-yourself-a-french-manicure

It wouldn't look messy if you do it right.
Replace the nude colored nail polish in a french manicure kit with black and white nail polish.
