Why do legal Americans have to compete for jobs with illegal immigrants?

How much cotton have you picked?

How about any crop, how many years have you been in competition with illegal immigrants to pick them?

How about motel rooms? How many of those are you willing to clean?

How about folding laundry, in the hot sweltering shop, in the hot sweltering heat?

Answer those and them I can tell you why you are NOT competing with them for jobs.

Well... I just took jobs that an illegal immigrant probably couldn't do as well, like teaching college. Most of the illegals I've heard about do jobs Americans don't want, like migrant farm work and domestic services. But other people here on the boards have assured me that illegal immigrants really are taking jobs that the citizens could otherwise have, so we'll have to hear more examples from them.

Because no one really listens to the highschool students who are applying for the positions the immigrants are currently holding. Trust me, when my 5 boys are applying for jobs I believe are being filled by illegals, Immigration will be called upon to verify the legality of all workers. Yes, I said all workers. Just because Mexican nationals are in the spotlight does not mean other illegals are off the hook.

In most situations, they don't. Illegal immigrants take the jobs that most of us don't want to do, Iike picking fruit or being a maid. They do this not because they are trying to steal our jobs, but because they are trying to feed their families. Americans are capable of finding more gainful employment, because we can speak English and generally receive more education than the immigrants do. We should take these higher-paying jobs and be glad that someone is willing to do the more unpleasant work. This country would be crippled without its immigrants, and they add some much-needed cultural integration to this country as well.

Obviously they can't compete with people who can be made to work like dogs for the lowest possible wage.

Which is why it makes so much sense to simply bring back slavery.

They (Americans), shouldn't have to! But, this so-called government thinks and say otherwise! But won't they (politicians), be in an uproar if an "illegal immigrant" attempts to take "their" jobs away!!! I am not upset with "immigrant", but highly upset with "illegal immigrant". And this government makes it worse! The logical and rational thinking has gone out the window! And racism is going to get worse also. Again, thank Uncle Sam, who has no earthly idea what he is doing!!

I've never once seen a "legal" applying to work in the fields or wash the dishes. Exactly what "competition" do you mean?
