I want to ultimately apply for a credit card as well so I'm not sure if submitting my local address here in Singapore will be a problem. Anyone done this before or have any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks!

As long as you have a valid Employment Pass or other visa giving you long-term stay in Singapore, you can open an account and apply for a credit card. You can also apply for a US Dollar account with the same bank. The address of your accounts will be your Singapore address.
